Academy of Audio®
The Academy of Audio® is an innovative educational institution that is designed to help aspiring music producers succeed in the competitive industry. By blending traditional education with real-world business training and mentorship, the Academy of Audio® prepares students to launch their own music production businesses just two weeks into the program.
This unique approach is inspired by the tech startup space, where traditional four-year computer science degrees have been replaced by shorter, more intense boot camp programs. The Accelerated Music Producer Course at the Academy of Audio® follows this model, providing a time-efficient way for students to gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
Throughout the program, students will learn from experienced music industry professionals who are dedicated to helping them succeed. They will receive hands-on training in a variety of areas, including audio engineering, music production, and business management. Additionally, they will have access to a network of mentors who can provide guidance and support as they navigate the challenging world of music production.
By the end of the program, graduates will be well-equipped to launch their own music production businesses and begin building their careers in the industry. About The Founder
With over 20 years of experience as a mix engineer and music producer, Simon Moro has seen how not all artists are comfortable communicating their vision, which can result in the final product straying too far from the heart of the artist. This led Simon to develop a unique process that focuses on empathy, mindset, and precision, to ensure the final product accurately reflects the artist’s vision.
Simon’s ability to empathetically connect with an artist and understand their vision was honed through his training under industry legends Michael Brauer and David Kahne, and his dedication to the art of mix engineering is evident in his diverse clientele, which includes Sony, Mushroom, Netflix, and even Eurovision. Simon has also been a teacher at the university level, where he helped to shape the next generation of music producers.
Aside from his impressive track record, what sets Simon apart is his passion for sharing his knowledge with aspiring producers. He has run production workshops for Melbourne Music Week and St Kilda Live ‘n Local, which included mixing masterclasses and women’s only production workshops. With his friendly, professional approach and a touch of humour, Simon has been helping aspiring producers achieve their goals for over a decade.
